"O-TOGIBANASHI" JAPANESE FAIRY TALES

This beloved pattern depicts many traditional Japanese fairy tales which have been passed down from parents to their children for centuries. These stories, similar to those in all world cultures, are told as a form of moral education, encouraging children to be honest, to be diligent, and to keep their promises.

Based on famous stories that everyone is familiar with even outside Japan, this pattern contains characters such as “Momotaro” (Peachboy), “Shita-Kiri-Suzume” (The Sparrow That Lost Her Tongue), “Issunboushi” (Inch-High Samurai), “Kachikachiyama” (The Raccoon-Dog and the Rabbit), “Urashima Taro” (Young Fisherman Urashima Taro) and “Saru-Gani Kassen” (The Battle Between the Monkey and the Crab).

Also, just to let you know…there is no villain depicted in the making of this pattern!

We hope it will bring you much, much joy and many smiles!
