This particular pattern represents a multitude of flowers such as the peony, chrysanthemum, and imaginery flowers along side animals such as the peacock, deer, phoenix, dragon, and panther. Known as “sarasa” in Japanese, becoming a very familar pattern in Japanese culture. Japanese design styles were often combined with designs from other countries creating a new exotic blend.
