Snow Falling on Banana Leaves” depicts a native plant of the tropics, in a scene which we, the viewer, would never see in our everyday lives. Bearing the weight of heavy snow, the plant’s branches have resiliency, and willpower.

Heavy snow is considered to be a good omen for a rich harvest of rice; for the melted snow will provide the rice crop with an abundance of water.
